The story of ACN Totale Afbouw BV begins in 2009, when Afbouw Coördinatie Nederland was founded by several partner companies. Initially, the activities were housed in a cooperative, but since 2018 the company has been going through life as ACN Totale Afbouw BV. Beautiful and prominent projects have been delivered under this title, says Jacobsen, citing several Spar-/Esso branches throughout the Netherlands, the Aeres Hogeschool in Almere, shopping centre De Lely in Arnhem, the Audi showroom in The Hague and the Flat of the Future in Utrecht as examples. "Our challenge is always to finish the contractor's shell construction to a high-quality delivery result, in accordance with the wishes of the architect and client. But also with maximum attention to safety, sustainability and optimal thermal and sound insulation. As an organisation, we are VCA*-certified. Moreover, we work with sustainable and bio-based building materials wherever possible. For instance, we mainly use FSC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests. We also focus on circularity. A great example of this is De Wereldburger primary school in Amsterdam, whose wooden slatted ceilings, stairs and auditorium are made of high-quality circular wood from a donor building designated by the municipality. And so we have many more great reference projects, which can inspire contractors across the country."
