Motel One on the rise
The plaza of German hotel group Motel One in Brussels has just been renovated and a second hotel in our country will open its doors in Antwerp as early as this year. Hotelvak talked to its communications department.
Motel One is a German hotel group that creatively combines the prices of a budget hotel with the look and feel of a design hotel. Its main promotional slogan is therefore interpreted by the slogan 'Like the price. Love the design'.
Motel One is headquartered in Munich. Currently, this group unites no fewer than 94 hotels or 26,470 rooms. The very first hotel opened its doors in 2000, specifically in the city of Offenbach. Expansion abroad and into major European cities began in 2011 with the realisation of hotels in Salzburg and Vienna.
When building new hotels, Motel One prefers to look for locations in the city centre, usually close to places with an urbane feel, urban amenities such as catering, tourist attractions and good (public) transport connections.
The interior of each hotel is a paragon of high-quality modern design, the result of its own exclusive design that usually makes eager use of turquoise, its bluish corporate colour. The spacious lobby as a lively meeting place also represents an important basic feature of Motel One. "As the creator and champion of the budget design concept, we believe in an evolution where we are constantly moving and therefore cannot rest on our laurels. As Motel One, we are also a warm host - and hostess - who displays an equally strong fondness and dedication to everything related to sustainable development," the group said.
The Motel One Hotel in Brussels opened its doors in May 2014. In doing so, this hotel group was clearly attracted by the fact that this place is increasingly emerging as the capital of the 27 countries of the European Union. "We therefore aim to serve high quality at affordable prices in central locations in cities across Europe. Moreover, Brussels is a vibrant, vibrant city and an interesting pole of attraction capable of attracting guests from all corners of our globe," it echoes.
This Brussels hotel was recently successfully renovated in depth. "We always refurbish our hotels within a certain timeframe, more specifically seven to 10 years after a hotel opens its doors. This way, our hotels remain sufficiently adapted to the changes and improvements we add to the Motel One brand at regular intervals."
Over the course of this year, the second Motel One Hotel will open its doors on Belgian soil, specifically in the famous port city of Antwerp. Why just there? "The design and interior of Motel One in Antwerp will exude and experience the world of fashion in a festive way. Our location at the entrance to the fashion district is therefore surrounded by boutiques and concept stores, while the MoMu museum and the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts are also within walking distance here." Besides, the train station is only ten minutes away.
This year also sees the opening of a Motel One Hotel in the Polish city of Gdansk and no less than two new spots in London, specifically Hyde Park and Old Street.
Finally, the first branch of the new brand The Cloud One Hotel was launched in New York in December 2022. Cloud One Hamburg followed in December 2023 and the intention is to further spread this brand in the lifestyle segment across Europe and America. This year, for example, another opening is planned in Düsseldorf, so near the Belgian and Dutch borders.
