RoomRaccoon, a hotel management system used by more than 2,000 independent hoteliers worldwide, has launched a new series of interviews entitled Diary of a hotelier. This five-part series chronicles the journey of Nadja Buckenberger, former hotel owner and founder and Chief Product Officer (CPO) of RoomRaccoon.
Nadja entered the hotel industry in 2014 when she took over Bliss Boutique Hotel in Breda. She owned and managed the property for eight years and, together with co-founder Tymen van Dyl, developed RoomRaccoon to meet the hotel's operational needs. She then sold the hotel to focus fully on the fast-growing SaaS startup, which grew to 10 markets within two years.
Diary of a hotelier offers both aspiring and experienced hoteliers a behind-the-scenes look at Nadja's first experiences as a hotel owner. Covering everything from overcoming initial challenges to implementing effective growth strategies, she goes all in on the nuances of the industry; the good, the funny and the bad.
"Diary of a hotelier was created to give an authentic behind-the-scenes look at the journey of opening and running an independent hotel, while reflecting on what it means to be part of the industry," Nadja says. "We pride ourselves on staying closely connected to the industry and our customers by actively listening to their needs. In this way, we can deliver resources and insights that really connect with hoteliers on a global scale, address real challenges and provide tailored support. It is this approach that sets us apart. "Hoteliers can subscribe to the series on podcast platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, and monthly updates will follow on the RoomRaccoon website, which offers free additional information to support followers during their hospitality adventure.
