NH Collection Gent: History and modern elegance come together in the heart of Ghent

After a major renovation, NH Collection Gent reopens its doors. The hotel brings the city's rich history to life with a unique combination of modern elegance and the historical charm so characteristic of Ghent. NH Collection Gent is located directly opposite the town hall and only a five-minute walk from famous sights such as the Saint Bavo Cathedral, the Castle of the Counts and the Belfry of Ghent.

The renovated NH Collection Gent will officially open on 4 November 2024. The hotel, partly located in a meticulously restored building from the 1913 World Fair, honours Ghent's textile magnates from the 14th century. With this rebranding, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas strengthens the presence of NH Collection Hotels & Resorts in Belgium, alongside an NH Collection hotel in Antwerp and two hotels in Brussels.

Inspired by the work of Hendrik Conscience, the famous Flemish popular author, NH Collection Gent tells the story of the forbidden love between Veerle Van Artevelde and Lieven Denys. From the 13th-century medieval Crypt of Denys to Grand Café Van Artevelde and the modern suites - every detail in the hotel breathes this compelling story. Located in the historic centre of Ghent, NH Collection Gent offers direct access to sights such as St Bavo's Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts. The hotel has 174 modern, spacious rooms that artistically reflect the essence of the city's rich textile history. With dynamic art of fabrics and warm tones, each room reflects a harmonious interplay between contemporary elegance and historical heritage. Extra special are the Junior Suites, each named after family members of the Van Artevelde family - important figures in Ghent's textile history.

Guests can enjoy numerous premium facilities that ensure an unforgettable stay. Restaurant Spinners offers an extensive breakfast buffet for a relaxing start to the day. Grand Café Van Artevelde is the ideal place to enjoy local specialities or a Belgian beer at any time of the day. In summer, Dyers Courtyard is the perfect place for a light meal or a drink in good company.

The hotel also offers a fully equipped gym and relaxing sauna for a complete stay. For meetings and events, NH Collection Gent has ten versatile rooms, which can accommodate up to 400 guests.
