So what can be improved about a wall-mounted toilet? A lot! The developers at Geberit have taken a closer look at the Geberit Acanto wall-mounted toilet bowl and once again improved a number of key features: flushing capacity, load-bearing capacity of the toilet seat and installation.
From the outside, the familiar shape and new slim toilet seat of the Geberit Acanto wall-mounted toilet bowl stand out. Less noticeable is the hydraulically optimised TurboFlush geometry inside the ceramic, which makes the toilet flush many times more powerfully and evenly than the standard requires. And that's not all....
Opening the toilet lid reveals the updated inner geometry, which has been specially developed for the Acanto wall closet with TurboFlush. The optimised inner geometry leads the flushing water through the ceramics like a powerful whirlpool. When developing the new TurboFlush, the water flow rate was precisely matched to the Geberit concealed cisterns. This makes the system highly efficient.
Through numerous laboratory tests, Geberit experts have developed this new asymmetric internal geometry for the Acanto toilet ceramics. The new internal geometry precisely controls the water flow and ensures a full surface flush and a high flushing performance that is very quiet and flushes thoroughly.
Three new features are typical of the innovative TurboFlush flushing technology. First, the ceramic water inlet of the ceramic has been shortened and moved further back. This change allows the edge of the toilet ceramic to be slimmer. A new plastic flush water distributor hydraulically directs the water from the cistern to the ceramic. Plastic is ideal because it is always produced in consistent quality and shape.
As a second measure, water flow has been improved by a circumferential guide edge. This leads the incoming water spiralling across the entire surface to high below the top of the toilet. The water flows in a controlled manner throughout the toilet, guaranteeing a full and powerful surface flush.
The third innovation is a second water-conducting rim at the bottom of the ceramic. This edge divides the vortex so that some of the water is directed as a jet directly into the siphon. This is because, like tornadoes, there is an area in the centre of the storm that remains virtually immobile. This allows lighter debris, such as parts of toilet paper, to stick and not be flushed away. The new water guide ensures that water flushes both around and in the middle of the TurboFlush to fully clean the siphon.
This uniformly powerful flushing power throughout the toilet has been intensively tested. The results are impressive: instead of the 12 toilet paper balls required by the standard, TurboFlush effortlessly flushes away as many as 60 balls; instead of 50 test balls, 500 were flushed away. This is up to ten times better than required by the standard. Thanks to this optimised, powerful and precisely controlled control of the water flow, TurboFlush significantly reduces cleaning effort.
When it comes to cleaning, the surface plays a decisive role. The smoother, the easier it is to maintain. This is why Geberit also offers the Acanto wall closet optionally with the special KeraTect® enamel. Thanks to its almost non-porous and extremely smooth surface, the toilet can be cleaned easily and efficiently.
The Geberit Acanto wall closet not only flushes better, the toilet seat has also been optimised. Thanks to targeted reinforcements and the integration of the hinges into the toilet seat, it has become flatter but at the same time considerably more resilient. The load capacity of the toilet seat is 300 kg, almost double the standard requirements.
Thanks to its rimless design, the new Geberit Acanto wall-mounted toilet with TurboFlush is easy to clean. To ensure hygiene under and around the toilet seat, it is now equipped with the quick-change function. The toilet seat and cover can be removed in one simple movement To do this, you open the toilet seat and cover to 90 degrees, after which it can be pulled off. After removal, the toilet ceramic is easy to clean, as well as the toilet seat - and in less time than before and without hard-to-reach places. Finally, the toilet seat is replaced and that's it. To prevent vandalism in semi-public and public areas, the quick-change function can be blocked by means of a screw in the hinge.
As part of the redesign, the developers have now also equipped the Geberit Acanto wall closet and wall bidet with the Easy Fast Fix fixing technology, making installation even easier than before. For both the Acanto wall closet and wall bidet, the Easy Fast Fix fixings are now already factory pre-assembled in a mounting bracket, which is made of steel and painted blue, like the Geberit Duofix installation elements. This makes the mounting bracket and the toilet ceramics even more stable. The ceramic is then slid onto the threaded rods of the installation frame and anchored via the two openings for the toilet seat. This makes the installation process even more reliable and convenient.
The Geberit Acanto wall-mounted toilet has a timeless look and suits a variety of bathroom styles, partly because of its closed shape, with no unsightly fixing holes to disturb the design.
The Geberit Acanto wall-mounted toilet with TurboFlush will be available from April 2023.
