Mövenpick debut in Belgium with flagship at Brussels airport

The Mövenpick Brussels Airport will open in December 2024.
Swiss culinary heritage and design with a surreal Belgian twist.

Mövenpick, the brand synonymous with Swiss hospitality and culinary excellence, announces the opening of Mövenpick Brussels Airport, the brand's first address in Belgium. Opening in December 2024, the flagship hotel is located just minutes from Brussels Zaventem Airport and a short drive from the Belgian capital.

Founded in 1948, Mövenpick pioneered the Swiss restaurant scene. It later evolved into a top-tier international hotel brand with inventive culinary excellence. Today, Mövenpick still embodies the same ethos of generous hospitality, with food and drink central to creating meaningful human connections, stimulating creativity and promoting positive good through kindness and care. Inspired by their surroundings, hotels around the world offer guests meaningful family moments, inspiring business interactions and moments of indulgence.

Operated by Belgian City Hotels, one of the country's largest hospitality operators, Mövenpick Brussels Airport offers 103 stylish and spacious rooms in three categories: standard, junior suites and executive junior suites. Over time, the hotel will expand to 222 rooms and offers functional and stylish accommodation tailored for both business and leisure travellers.

René Magritte as inspiration

The hotel's design pays homage to Brussels' status as a centre of surrealism, inspired by the works of René Magritte. Surrealist works contain the element of surprise and unexpected juxtapositions. This influence is reflected in the playful architecture of the building, with extra-large "curtains" on the façade and pops of colour inside the hotel against a warm beige palette.

The philosophy of the Mövenpick brand is rooted in the intention to "Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way" and this is reflected in the hotel's facilities and services, from the inviting lobby to the sumptuous relaxation of the wellness facilities, including a complimentary sauna, as well as the world-class fitness centre and the panoramic rooftop restaurant Magritte, which serves the best of Belgian cuisine.

Mövenpick Brussels Airport's rooftop restaurant, Magritte, celebrates Belgium's rich culinary traditions. Named after Belgium's most famous surrealist painter, René Magritte, the restaurant will present seasonal Belgian dishes, paired with an extensive list of Belgian wines. Guests can enjoy innovative local dishes such as the Flemish beef cheek stew or North Sea bouillabaisse with cod and scallops, polder potatoes with rouille and delicious desserts featuring Mövenpick's iconic ice cream.

Mövenpick brings guests together

Mövenpick hotels provide rituals and experiences that create memories, bridge cultural gaps and foster connections between guests and locals. Mövenpick Brussels Airport continues the brand's tradition with a daily Chocolate Hour, a creative and immersive chocolate experience that brings guests together to enjoy complimentary sweet treats. In addition, guests can enjoy Mövenpick's own line of Swiss gourmet products, including coffee and ice cream.

Mövenpick is a participating brand in ALL - Accor Live Limitless - an award-winning lifestyle loyalty programme that offers access to a wide range of rewards, services and experiences. To book, go to: all.accor.com.
