First-class mobility for hotel guests
A well-functioning, stylish and tidy lift offers extra comfort and safety to your guests. And that has an immediate impact on your hotel's reputation. Cosmolift, a subsidiary of the international lift group Schindler, understands better than anyone how important a reliable lift is for the hotel experience.
Whether you run a small or large hotel, the lift is of great importance. After checking in, the lift is often the first thing your guests use to make their way to their room with their luggage. Thus, the lift helps determine the first impression they get of your hotel, whether subconsciously or not. You don't want your guests to have to climb the stairs with their suitcases, do you? When they make their way down from their room, for example for breakfast, they also appreciate not having to take the stairs. Your employees also undoubtedly appreciate the presence of a lift, especially when they have a lot to carry. And as a business owner, you know how important it is to keep your staff happy. In short, a well-functioning lift offers benefits for everyone.
Cosmolift specialises in professional and reliable lift installations, from a new lift to maintenance, repairs and renovations. A recent project in the latter category is Hotel Rosa in Ostend, a renovation of the former Imperial Hotel. "The existing lift system was outdated and in need of a thorough overhaul. We put together a new custom-made lift that fits into the narrow lift shaft," says Steven Vandenberghe, project manager at Cosmolift. "We think along with our customers. They choose from different styles, colours and options so that the lift matches the building and its use. At Hotel Rosa, a wood motif was chosen as the finish, which perfectly matches the stylish and natural look of the hotel. In this way, the lift not only takes guests comfortably to their rooms, but also adds value to the interior. It also features the latest technologies, such as integrated access control, and has quiet operation. All this offers even more comfort."
Sustainability plays a central role at Hotel Rosa. That vision also extends to the lift system. "All our lifts are made to last as long as possible. After a professional installation, we also ensure proper maintenance, timely repairs and replacement of necessary components to keep the lift working optimally," says Steve. "In addition, we pay great attention to ecology. Our lifts have an energy class A according to the ISO-25745 standard, which means they consume less energy. In addition, the power generated by the lift is returned to the grid. This makes our lifts not only good for the environment, but also financially interesting for the hotel. Especially in times of high energy costs."
A well-functioning lift is essential for the experience in a hotel. Therefore, Cosmolift customers can count on the best 24/7 service. "First of all, we try to prevent interventions with regular maintenance and repairs. If a breakdown does occur, our technicians are available day and night to solve it quickly and efficiently. Even during installation, our teams ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. On another project in Ostend, C-Hotels Andromeda, the hotel remained open during the renovation of the four lifts. Here, tight planning was crucial. The hotel has two lifts in duplex, of which one lift remained available each time with minimum disruption to the guests," Steve adds. "Because their comfort and safety always come first for us. By the way, the lifts in this hotel have a higher speed. The lift shaft dimensions allowed us to adjust the speed from 1 metre per second to 1.6 metres per second. This means great added value for the hotel."■
