Discover the Hotel & Hospitality themed hall at Horexa Expo

Last year, Horeca Expo packed Flanders Expo with a themed hall entirely dedicated to Hotel & Hospitality. The enthusiastic reactions of both exhibitors and visitors confirmed the success of this new approach. This concept will therefore be further expanded and refined during the coming edition.

Some 65 exhibitors, totalling 2,000 square metres, will fill Hall 3 with a wide range of high-quality products and services. All hotel aspects are covered: from the sleeping and sitting area, over the bathroom to the lobby, bar and restaurant. Visitors can count on an extensive range of furniture, equipment, decoration and accessories specifically tailored to the needs of the hotel and hospitality sector.

Hall 3 of Flanders Expo is where you will discover, among other things, the latest trends in digital comfort, efficient access management, network applications, professional camera surveillance, interactive audio applications, cloud-based software, modern safes, advanced cleaning solutions, innovative property management systems,...

Talks in the Hotel Lounge

Besides discovering novelties and products and services, Horeca Expo also wants to inspire. They will do so with lots of talks in the Hotel Lounge, central in Hall 3. For example, Willem De Graeve of Tourism Flanders and Jasmina Loots of Pluimpapaver Hotel & Glamping will talk about 'Travelling to Tomorrow'. Tourism Flanders will also give lectures on accessibility within the holiday experience and ecological sustainability. Prof Bram Desmet of HorecaWerkt then talks about tools you can use to address the challenges in the food supply chain. Stardekk's talk on AI in hospitality ties in with that. Or how about Geberit's talks on trends in the bathroom industry and on acoustics and comfort in the bathroom? Hospitality business coach Ann Winnepenninckx will also be present with a talk on social media for hospitality professionals. The full programme will be on the Horeca Expo website from October.

Symposium on AI and hospitality

On Tuesday 19 November, the Hotel Management Department of AP Hogeschool Antwerp is organising a symposium during Horeca Expo on the increasing influence of artificial intelligence on the hospitality sector. Keynote speakers in the first part are Stijn Baert, Mieke De Ketelaere and Cas Bogaard. They outline about the influence of AI in our daily working and private lives. The second part will delve deeper into AI in the hotel industry with Eline Vorlat, Frank van den Berg, Ruud Belmans, Max Smeets and Bart-Jan Leyts.

The symposium offers hoteliers and professionals in the hospitality sector the chance to learn about the latest developments in AI and its concrete applications in practice. It is scheduled to start at 8 am with breakfast and networking opportunities. At 1pm, the sympsosium is done. Participation costs 150 euros per person, excluding VAT. To register, send an e-mail to [email protected]. You can contact him with all your questions.

From culinary competitions to total offerings

Besides the specialised offer for the still growing overnight stay market, Horeca Expo offers seven more halls with nearly 600 exhibitors. This comprehensive total offer, consisting of both established A-brands and innovative ones, covers all segments: food & beverages; coffee, tea, sweets & breakfast; fast casual; kitchen equipment; café, bar & nightlife and snack & fast food.

The Competition Kitchen in Hall 5 is the stage for numerous important culinary competitions, such as the Young Talent Trophée Auguste Escoffier Benelux, the Fish Chef of the Year and the First Chef of Belgium. Sweet Inspirations in Hall 2, in turn, is where you can watch the denouement of the Esta Tea Tasting Competition and the Esta Matcha Latte Art Battle.

Innovation Awards

Traditionally, the coveted Innovation Awards are presented during the opening day of the fair. An expert jury selects the winners within seven categories: Food, Beverages, Technology, Kitchen Equipment & Supplies, Furniture & Decoration, Hotel Equipment & Supplies and Sustainability.

From 30 September, you can also cast your vote via the Horeca Expo website and help decide who gets the Visitor's Choice.
