Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels opens its doors: A new standard in Belgian luxury

On the prestigious Rue Royale, the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels will open its doors on 9 December. With Coutume, an innovative retail concept, the hotel puts Belgian craftsmanship and creativity in the spotlight. This stylish retail concept, aimed at Belgian consumers, brings together established brands and emerging talent in an inspiring setting. Each partner is given a prominent place, making each creation bring the space to life. Visitors are invited to discover and take home unique, unforgettable pieces. A tribute to the best of Belgian design and luxury, right in the heart of Brussels. Coutume is the destination for those who want to experience Belgian mastery at its finest.

A " Made in Belgium " shopping experience

The Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels is proud to present its new multi-brand concept store, inspired by the historic boutiques of the iconic Astoria Hotel, in December 2024. Three original boutiques have been brought together in one large space where 10 Belgian luxury brands come together. This offers residents and visitors alike an exclusive look at the best of Belgium. Some brands are physically available in Brussels for the first time. Think Maison La Collection, a renowned fashion house, Vaessen, known for its sophisticated speakers, and Marylene Madou, specialising in unique textile prints.

A third of the concept store is dedicated to renowned Belgian florist Daniel Ost, whose Art Deco boutique is adjacent to the hotel. Besides inspiring interior pieces and floral creations, this space offers a large table for workshops and bouquet design. Moreover, Daniel Ost provides the hotel's floral signature, including festive decoration with a five-metre-high Christmas tree from December.

With its focus on Belgian heritage and authenticity, Coutume brings together tradition, craftsmanship and elegance in a timeless concept. The name refers to 'couture' and 'costume', a nod to its deep roots in Belgian lifestyle and style.

An ode to art and the senses

Art is at the heart of the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels. In collaboration with the prestigious gallery Almine Rech, the hotel bridges the Brussels art scene with the international stage. The concept store Coutume additionally surprises with IONNYK, an innovative digital art frame that displays art in a pure, paper look.

Visitors will further discover a carefully curated selection of partners in the concept store, including fashion house Maison La Collection and jewellery designer Joke Quick, who offers exclusive consultations here. Les Tables de Joséphine also impresses with a changing collection of vintage table decorations and tableware, inspiring sophisticated table settings. Especially for the hotel, Laura de Coninck created an exclusive fragrance, packaged as a scented candle. This allows guests to take home an olfactory souvenir of their experience - a fragrant reminder of their stay. The atmosphere is further enhanced by high-end speakers by Vaessen and elegant lighting installations by MOON, which together contribute to a unique retail experience.

Le Petit bon bon : a Belgian brasserie with style

At the heart of the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels you will find Le Petit bon bon, a brasserie that combines timeless elegance with the warmth of a classic Belgian brasserie. Designed by renowned agency We Want More and led by star chef Christophe Hardiquest, this place promises a culinary journey that perfectly blends tradition and modernity. The open kitchen in copper pays subtle homage to traditional Belgian cooking utensils, while the dark wood parquet floor in Versailles pattern creates a refined, stylish atmosphere.
