New Van der Valk Hotel Park Lane

In the heart of Antwerp, on Van Eycklei near the city park, the renovated Van der Valk Hotel Park Lane recently shines. This stately building, once a hotel and later a residential care centre, has been transformed once again into four-star accommodation. The hotel combines historical charm with modern luxury, setting a new standard for hospitality in the city.

The C'est Moi restaurant combines its well-known buffets with à la carte options.

When Van der Valk took over the building this year, one thing was certain: the grandeur of yesteryear had to return. Cas Polman, one of the hotel managers, explains how smart renovation was essential for this: "We kept many materials, such as floors, trims and walls, and refreshed them with paint. This was not only cost-efficient, but also ensured that the historical charm was preserved. For parts like the bar, kitchen and roof, we did renew. We work a lot in-house, with our own carpentry and design team. The kitchen was also custom-made by Rosval. The result is a harmony between modern comfort and the classic look that characterises Van der Valk."

Space for all

With 174 rooms ranging from suites with city views to spacious luxury rooms, Park Lane offers a wide range of options. From March 2025, four family rooms and three long-stay flats will also be commissioned. In addition, six rooms are specifically designed for people with disabilities, with thoughtful amenities to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Lotte Van Baak, responsible for hospitality and human resources, explains: "Besides the rooms, we have a fitness, sauna, a spacious indoor swimming pool and a 'guest relations' desk. There we help guests with all kinds of questions, such as booking a taxi or reserving a table in our restaurant. The aim is to provide a personal and efficient service without guests having to queue."

The bathrooms are equipped with a rain shower.

Meetings in style

The hotel has five modern meeting rooms, all with natural light, coffee corners and buffet areas. The smallest room can even be transformed into a space for private dining. Polman explains that the hotel not only targets citytrippers and leisure guests, but also welcomes business travellers and conference guests: "Our central location makes us ideal for every kind of hotel guest. Through packages and campaigns, we try to remain attractive to different target groups throughout the year."

Culinary indulgence

Van der Valk has been known for decades for its hospitality and delicious cuisine, but Park Lane goes a step further. The restaurant C'est Moi combines the familiar buffets with à la carte options. Chef Dylan Sevenans is bringing back classic table service, complete with service and refined cuts. "We want to offer guests a culinary experience that feels both familiar and innovative," Polman says.

There is also the bar Eleanor, which serves refined snacks such as oysters and brioche. "The great thing is that everyone is welcome, including non-guests. Even for a cup of coffee you can come here," Van Baak adds.

With this unique combination of casual comfort and refined experience, Van der Valk Hotel Park Lane shows that hospitality and innovation can go hand in hand. The hotel is ready to welcome locals and international visitors alike in an environment where past and future come together.
