In hotels, it should not be too hot or too cold. Sudden temperature fluctuations are out of the question. Sustainable climate systems can help. When the management of the Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre in Brussels decided to thoroughly renovate the building, they also wanted to replace the outdated climate systems. On the advice of Thermo Comfort (Engels Group), they chose Multi V heat pump systems from LG. The result: increased comfort in rooms and other areas, lower energy bills and space for a roof terrace with an impressive view of our capital, since the number of outdoor units is now significantly lower.
The Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre in Brussels has a strong reputation. This is not only due to its location close to the Grand Place and other chosen spots, but also to its professional approach and hospitality. The imposing building combines 310 stylish, practically furnished rooms, 17 meeting rooms for business meetings and conferences, a lounge bar and the gourmet restaurant Le Magellan. "To guarantee guests an even better service, the management initiated a major renovation project, which included replacing the air conditioning systems. These were outdated and no longer met requirements and expectations," states Patrick Leenaerts, sales director at Thermo Comfort. "As a specialised importer and distributor for Belgium and Luxembourg of heating, air conditioning, air treatment and solar panels for residential and industrial applications, we assisted them with advice on the climate systems and convinced them of the advantages of LG's Multi V heat pump systems."
The management opted for a phased renovation. Thus, initially 145 rooms, the dining areas and the conference rooms were thoroughly refurbished. While in the rooms wall-mounted 2.6 kW units create a pleasant indoor climate, cassette units in the larger conference rooms, bar and restaurant ensure optimal air distribution. "The performance of such systems is important, but the design, quiet operation and simple, smart operation with the LG AC Smart IV also appeal to our guests and staff. We are also pleasantly surprised by the smooth installation and simple, economical operation of these air-conditioning systems," explains Christophe Boverie, technical director and co-owner at Bedford Hotel. "We are convinced that we made the right choice with LG's systems. An additional plus point is that the number of outdoor units could be reduced from 31 to 12. On the space thus freed up, we can create a roof terrace where guests can fully enjoy impressive views over Brussels. An added bonus for our hotel."
At Thermo Comfort, they are naturally proud of this project, which showed once again how important supporting customers is. The Thermo Comfort team is on hand every day to advise customers, guide them through the purchase and support them with any after-sales service. The company also has its own engineering office and technical service. "The market is evolving rapidly, making it important for customers to stay up-to-date around the latest products and technologies. They can visit our showroom at the new site in Malle by appointment. We also organise weekly training sessions there for professional customers. Speakers and trainers from our leading brands then go deeper into certain topics or innovations. That English Academy is of course free for our customers," Leenaerts concludes. "We also have a 14,000-square-metre warehouse with 6,000 stock locations, from where twelve of our own trucks leave for customers every day. Of course, orders can also be collected. In short: we take care of our customers from A to Z."
