Single point of contact for electrical, HVAC and solid surface from A-brands

Today, the Engels family's independent electrical shop has grown into a renowned group with three divisions: Purchasing Organisation and Electrical Wholesaler D. Engels, Thermo Comfort and Engels Surfaces. While the former entity advises and supports professional dealers on free-standing and built-in household appliances and white goods, Thermo Comfort focuses on HVAC products and energy-saving solutions, and Engels Surfaces is the exclusive importer and distributor of solid surface. The quality products of various A-brands, personal approach and care, meticulous project follow-up, unprecedented service and (free) customer training are the cornerstones of its success.

Not a dome, but a support

Purchasing organisation D. Engels is a well-known distributor of a wide variety of electrical appliances to provide projects with the desired comfort. In addition to the wholesale business, the group includes two purchasing organisations. Electroservice is a network of specialised electrical shops, while Electrocook represents an extensive network of professional kitchen builders, customisers and interior specialists. They all retain their independence, but can fall back on the purchasing organisation to guarantee end customers the best possible service. A team of commercial inside and outside sales staff is on hand daily to advise professional dealers on trends and novelties, guide them through the purchase of appliances and support any after-sales service. 

"We have been working very closely with more than 65 suppliers/partners for many years, allowing people to fall back on a very wide range of brands and devices. Via a personal webshop, partners can look up appliances and accessories with their own purchase and consumer prices, including all promotions. They find catalogues, technical data sheets, energy labels and user manuals, can easily place orders and continuously consult open orders, quotations, invoices and service forms," explains sales director Jo De Plecker. "All authorised partners carry the Electrocook Quality Label, which guarantees the choice of all top brands, personal advice and fast service and after-sales service."

Solid surface divider

Engels Surfaces is an importer and distributor for Belgium and Luxembourg of solid surface of the HI-MACS, GETACORE, VARICOR and ENGELS SOLIDS brands. Solid surface is used in numerous applications such as kitchens, bathrooms, shop fitting, hotel areas and even in medical environments and on facades. "It is a rock-solid, seamlessly mouldable, low-maintenance and durable material that is very often used for worktops and sinks in kitchens," says Daniel Floren, sales and technical manager of English Surfaces. "These collections include a number of enchanting and high-profile designs, including decors with vibrant veins, subtle glitters and contemporary uni colours, and surfaces with fine and coarser particles that give the perception of glass, granite or sandstone grains. In this way, this range offers opportunities for interior architects, interior designers and builders to realise unique concepts."

Showroom and Academy

The Engels Group puts a lot of time and energy into advising and informing various target groups: electrical partners, HVAC specialists, architects, interior builders, mock workers, .... For example, Engels Group organises training courses, theme nights and networking events at regular intervals. This location is also home to a 14,000-square-metre warehouse, from where twelve of the company's own trucks depart daily for customers. 

"With The Hub, we have an additional inspiration and design hotspot in the heart of Antwerp, where our solidsurface products are shown in combination with suitable materials. Architects and joiners also get expert explanations about the properties and possibilities there," indicates Daniël Floren. "In addition, we organise processing training courses for solid surface, useful for product developers, wood processors and joiners, among others. In short: we completely unburden our partners for all divisions, so they only have to focus on their core business."
