Mews adds point-of-sale to integrated payment feature

Mews POS, the all-in-one system for F&B management, now offers a combined payment function for guests during their stay.

Mews, the leading hospitality cloud, has announced that Mews POS (Point-of-Sale) is added to the integrated payment function of the Mews Hospitality Cloud. This saves hotels a lot of operational time and makes paying hassle-free for guests.

Mews is the first cloud-native solution to introduce integrated payment solutions for the entire guest stay to the hospitality industry. The full integration of Mews POS into Mews Payments means that digital food and beverage (F&B) orders are paid through the same platform where all other transactions within the guest journey, including upgrades and bill payments, are processed. The solution is also unique because of its international availability in 16 countries.

"By leveraging the power of integrated payments, hoteliers actually notice benefits across their entire business," said Josef Starýchfojtů, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Mews. "Combined payment functions provide faster, more secure operations, with cumulative time savings, more comprehensive guest data and an increase in guest satisfaction."

Mercure Roeselare, a full-service four-star hotel in Belgium, benefits from integrated payments in their F&B offering. Damien Janssens, general manager, commented, "Having all payments in one central place, which we can check daily in Mews, is crucial for our cash flow. It makes the reporting process easier for me and for our accounting team."

Other benefits include aggregated costs of all PMS and POS transactions and consolidated disbursements. This also enables a full payment report directly within Mews Operations, without the need to manually import or export data. This leads to significant time savings as accommodations deal with only one provider and all reports are uniform. It also eliminates the need for additional KYC (Know Your Customer) checks, saving even more time during implementation.

Capsule Hotel is an innovative hospitality brand with four hotels in Switzerland. It has one person working in their multifunctional lobby who can handle all transactions, from check-ins to drink orders, on one device. Hendrik Renken, Project Manager at Capsule Services, said, "I am very satisfied with Mews Payments at POS. I can't imagine a simpler solution than what we have now. It is the most convenient way to handle payments, making reception activities as easy as possible for all staff."
