GLOW WELLNESS executes eye-catching wellness space in Silt

In the world of wellness, Kortrijk-based GLOW is a resounding name. For 25 years, they have been offering customised solutions to private individuals, hotels, wellness and fitness centres. Their latest realisation is the exclusive wellness area of Silt Hotel in the Middelkerk casino. Curved shapes and high-end wellness equipment dominate there and create the optimal conditions for relaxation.

In its eight hundred square metre showroom, you will find saunas, hammams and infrared cabins made in its own workshop. Customisation is popular among architects and customers who want to add a unique touch to their wellness space. Thanks to an in-house drawing and design office, the company can carry out almost any design.

GLOW also takes care of the techniques and maintenance afterwards. Manager Luc Braet : "We are known for the many possibilities we offer. Professional heat techniques or rather for home use: something for everyone. We also offer high-quality fitness equipment from Technogym, WaterRower and Nohrd, as well as Jacuzzis from the Finnish brand Drop and the American Hot Spring."

GLOW's latest realisation is the wellness area in the prestigious Silt hotel in Middelkerke's Casino. The imposing building is located on the beach and attracts the eye with its round shape. This line is literally continued in the wellness area, which overlooks the coast. Hotel guests enjoy the extensive facilities there. Luc: "We customised the 100-square-metre room. We installed a sauna with curved walls, partly in glass, which beautifully complements the aesthetics of the building. In the sauna, we worked with a sauna heater that sits under the benches, which saves space and is safe. The whole thing is also a lot calmer visually."

GLOW also supplied a hammam suitable for intensive use for a luxury hotel. This steam bath also has a curved design. The mortex finish and aroma experience are the icing on the cake. "An experience shower is also present where four senses are stimulated with music, fragrance, colours and different types of water misting. Customers can choose from different programmes, each lasting two minutes. Such as Tropical Storm of whistling birds and a gentle misting or the Carribean Storm which plays out with heavy thunder, flashing lights and heavy rainfall. For various preferences, in other words."

"The biggest challenge was undoubtedly the design and placement of the curved elements in the design, such as the glass wall in the sauna," Luc explains. "Our design office took a while to calculate the curved piece of glass measuring three by one-and-a-half metres. Moreover, the installation depended on a tight deadline. Because of the imposing nest placed over the casino, all the large pieces had to be in the building on time. A deadline we met, allowing hotel guests to enjoy the exclusive wellness area since the beginning of May."
