A pillar of breakfast

The enjoyment of a warm, buttery croissant at breakfast is more than just a culinary tradition, it is an experience deeply rooted in European, especially French gastronomic history. Originally created in the 17th century, the croissant is often thought to have originated in Austria.

The look and taste of our croissants make a difference to every hotel guest.

According to tradition, this iconic pastry was created to celebrate an important victory during the siege of Vienna by the Turks. Its shape is said to mimic a crescent moon, the symbol on the Turkish flag. Yet the croissant only really became famous when it was embraced in Paris in the twentieth century and refined into the airy, layered viennoiserie product we know today. This delicate pastry quickly became a regular part of the French breakfast and symbolises French savoir-vivre to this day. The pleasure of slowly biting off a crispy golden crust that turns into soft, aromatic dough reflects a perfect balance between art and culinary science.

An essential part of any hotel breakfast

Breakfast is a crucial and vibrant moment in any hotel. But a breakfast without croissants? That is almost unthinkable for many guests. Not surprisingly, it is usually from the basket of croissants that you see the bottom most quickly.

Stefanie Teirlinck, Channel Marketing Manager Professional at Vandemoortele: "We believe that not just any croissant will do. That's why hotels can choose downright superior quality with our new Croissant Premium. The look and taste of our croissants make the difference for every hotel guest. The Croissant Premium is rich in flavour, made with 23 per cent real cream butter, is enriched with sourdough for depth of flavour and offers a multitude of crispy layers under a perfectly golden brown crust. According to recent market research in France, it is not surprising that this croissant is the favourite among consumers."

Variety in the breakfast menu

An old adage says that 'change of spice makes you eat'. So guests expect to be able to choose from different breakfast options. And thus try different flavours.

Stefanie: "Our range of traditional mini-viennoiserie, including mini croissants, chocolate rolls and small roll cakes, offers the perfect solution for maximum flavour variety. We can also surprise hotel guests with something new. Our new mini-salted caramel plait, pre-glazed and richly sprinkled with flaked almonds and salted caramel, is a delicious addition to your breakfast menu. Finally, what could be more appealing than a golden croissant? A richly filled croissant. Our filled varieties, from creamy hazelnut cream to fresh fruit fillings, offer an irresistible taste sensation that your guests are sure to appreciate. With Banquet d'Or®, we can take any hotel's breakfast service to the next level. These products are not only elegant but also practical, saving you time while creating unforgettable breakfast experiences."
